What progress have I made in my various area of Research?
Well, let's get into it.
Business
Innovation takes a backseat to Logic. Mania is neccessary to break free of the Common Practices that bind Autonomy into Pre-set Patterns. However, there is something to be said for Effectiveness. "If it's not broke, don't fix it." I could be called out for my grammar in not saying "broken" but this spelling is making a reference that can be found in Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" Movie. I suggest you look. In any case, the point is that Innovation, driven by Mania, is for the Entrepreneurial Mindset. In regards to the "Cashflow Quadrant"(See Robert Kiyosaki) the Entrepreneur and the Business Owner are in different quadrants for a reason. The Entrepreneur innovates, and "walks the path less travelled by"(See Robert Frost) with starting new Enterprises. The Business owner, in contradiction, uses Logic in place of Mania, and leverages existing Franchises and other pre-built Systems as Building Blocks. They may not even innovate that far, and simply go in on a Silent Partnership or Buy an Existing Business that is already making money, and simply collect the money without additional labour. Expanding one's Business Empire requires both the Archetypes of the Entrepreneur and the Business Owner, but one could fall into the trap of perpetually being the Entrepreneur and building everything from scratch. As the Business Empire grows, the Labours of the Entrepreneur increases, until all of their Businesses are suffering from the limits of what one person is able to give. At some point, Innovation must be scaled back. Hire a Manager to work in your place in one Business, so you may devote more time to other areas of your Business. Eventually, all your Businesses should have Managers, and you should only be dealing with those Managers in Business Meetings, not micromanaging the ranks beneath. This is about Proportional Labour and Balanced Effort in Organizational Design.
Art
With the Arts, there is also the Lesson of knowing when to Innovate, and when not to. For someone whose Passion is Innovation, this is a very hard lesson. It is a bitter pill to swallow, but Industrial Efficiency brings benefits that cannot be understated.
I also need my Flow State to be managed properly by other People who are wary of how Passion can consume a Person. There are limits to what is Healthy and Productive, and the Excess leads to the Unromantic type of Madness which lands me right back in the Mental Health Ward.
The worth of a Good Support System, also, cannot be understated.
Science
A Scientist considers themselves Personally Responsible for the Development of the Human Race.
That being said, there are Methodologies that are not innovated, and are part of Common Standards & Practices, such as the Formatting and Style of Research Papers to be submitted to Academic Journals.
Creative Writing and Technical Writing are two different types of writing.
When innovating in construction, you can't exactly just go wacky with anything that pops into your head in a "Stream of Consciousness" Style. You need to be having an ongoing dialogue with Architects and Engineers, who are duty bound to keep to certain codes and standards when it comes to making Buildings and Infrastructure. If you intend on implementing a Creative Twist on those, it needs to be backed up by Logic, Mathematics, Physics, and Practical Reasoning. Not only that, but since other People will be using these Buildings and Infrastructures, you had better get Public Input on the matter, because their input matters. They are important, and they deserve to have their voices heard.
In conclusion, I am attempting to grow up, even if I must drag my inner child kicking and screaming all the way to School.
There's work to be done.
